MUSIC & DANCE ARTIST
The Adivasi Jagriti Samaj will present an Adivasi Seasonal Dance. Adivasis who have inherited their culture from their ancestors dance in tune to the sound beat of mandar and dholak. Generally, the Adivasi seasonal dances are performed during every occasion of the community gathering. This dance is performed to be grateful to the mother Earth for it plentiful products and to thank God for His graces showered upon this land. The community comes together and gives praise to God through dances to mark respect and devotion to the Creator.
The dance will be performed by Sarah Aind, Anna Khalkho, Seropina Kachuwa, Asumta Xaixo, Susen Kullu, Asenla Dora, Jagrani Kindo, Sunita Ekka, Mary Toppo, Renu Tikey, Monica Lakra, Kiran Lakra, Jenifer Minj, John Sukhubilas Ekka, Nathaniel Bagh, Clement Beck and Markus Minj.
Sargam Cultural Association will present the Bengali dance “Badhu Baran in Gram Bengla “- Marriage Ceromony in Bengal Village”.
It’s a jolly preparation of a village girl,who is surrounded by her mates and People of all ages do Celebrate the occasion with great joy and happiness by Singing and Dancing. Mainly the tune and rhytem of the Dance is so enchanting and soul touching which truly changes the whole environment. The very colourful attire of the young girls are so unique that adds something more which can’t be imagine. The GROOM become little afraid, emotional, anxious as she is going to go into a new life.
The dance is choreographed by Mrs. Nilima Deb and Miss Papiya Roy and will be performed by Sraboni Paul, Disha Barua, Shilpy Das, Nikita Ghosh, Sneha Paul, Riya Chakraborty, Quel Paul, Shreya Das, Jiya Bhagat, Tanushree Dey, Supriya Biswas, Aanushree Dey, Sanchita Das, Shriti DEY, Ankita Bhhadra, Priya Das, Nandani Dey, Miss Srabanee Acharya, Sornali Dasgupta, Paromita Sarkar
“HOLI AYE RE / SADIYE – BIYAA”
The Bihari Community will present “HOLI AYE RE / SADIYE – BIYAA” dance. This is the most happiest time of the year when all the people gather together to enoy the colourfull festival – HOLI it’s a celebration of great joy and fun. People uses GULLAL , forgive each other and make friendship. This festival is meant for Workshiping lord KRISHANA.
The dance is choreographed by Miss Sweta Paul and Miss Sunita Singh and will be performed by Sulakshini Kumari, Madhu Kumari, Pinky Kumari, Neha Kumari , Sweta Paul , Nitu Kumari, Sadahana Kumari , Neva Kumari , Rinky Kumari , Priyanka Khati and Roshni Dorjee.
The students of Malayalam Class, Kerala Samjam, Dimapur will present “Oppana” dance, which is one of the popular dance of Kerala.
“Oppana” is a popular dance of Mappila (Muslim) community of Kerala. It is performed during “Nikah” (marriage) celebration of Muslim Community.
“Oppana” is generally presented by females, numbering about fifteen, including musicians. The bride dressed in all finery, covered with gold ornaments and her palms and feet adorned with an intricately woven pattern of mylanchi (henna), sits amidst the circle of dancers. She is the chief spectator sitting on a peetam (chair), around which the singing and dancing take place. While they sing, they clap their hands rhythmically and move around, the bride using simple steps. Two or three girls begin the songs and the rest join in chorus.
The “Oppana” dance will be presented by Lakshmi Ajith, Theertha Krishnan, Gopika Suresh, Amritha Shaji, Swetha Santhosh, Rosylin Maria Reji, Praise Anna Philip, Monica Joseph, Devika Suresh, Aiswarya Pillai and Emil Moncy.
The Team is led by Mrs. Sindhu R. Nair, who is instrumental in organizing and training the Malayalam Class students to present this dance today.

Dimapur Gorka Union will present Nepali Folk Dance “Malai chaubandi choli le”
This beautiful song based dance describes about the tradition and culture of Mongolian Nepali women. The song narrates about their adorned ornaments and beautiful costume. It describes how happy the women are in their traditional costumes and also admire themselves when they wear their traditional attires.
The “Malai chaubandi choli le” dance will be presented by Sushila Pradhan, Sabita Gurung, Anjalee Sharma, Puja Chetri, Nitu Sharma, Pooja Gurung, Sheetal Subba, Poonam Thapa and Some Maya Sunar.
